Don’t freak out, “Sally” is a workout 🙂
I’m out of town this weekend at a fitness conference in sunny Costa Mesa. The wife and kiddos are at home, so it’s just me for the next few day sharing the latest fitness and fat loss techniques with some of the top trainers in the world.
But whenever I travel there is always the issue of getting a workout in.Ai?? And let’s be honest – most hotel gyms just suck.
So I always have a few “hotel room” workout pre-planned are ready to roll.
This time I planned to do Sally.
Variations of the Sally workout have been floating around for a while, and much to the dismay of my clients Sally comes out to plan with some regularity at our facility.
The variation I chose to do can be done anywhere, all you need is the “Sally Up” song and enough room to do a squat.Ai?? It also helps you work on your squat form as well as increase your mobility.
Here’s the deal “Sally Up” is a song by Moby – Flower.Ai?? And you play the song while doing a series of body weight squats.
It’s a catchy tune, and there are only a few lyrics, but the important part is the singer says “Bring Sally up”Ai?? then “Bring Sally down”.Ai?? So when the song says “Bring Sally down” you squat down.Ai?? You don’t stand back up until she says “Bring Sally up.”Ai?? You do that for the whole song.
Simple right?Ai?? Say that after 3 minutes and 25 seconds.
Keep your form tight – drop that butt below your knees, toes should be pointing straight ahead (for the most part) and keep that back flat (no rounding) and eyes looking directly in front of you..
Here is a link to the song:
It starts pretty quick, so be ready to go.
This little workout is fast and effective, and a great way to tighten the hips, buns and thighs.Ai?? I put this song on a playlist on my phone so I can whip it out whenever I need a quick little workout.
Have a GREAT weekend and I hope to see you at the gym on Monday!
